Nikon COOLPIX S800C Android Pocket Camera Equipped with Wi-Fi

After some time ago, there were rumors of a camera that has a name the COOLPIX S800C from Nikon, finally this company has officially announced. One of the features that attract the attention of the camera is run on Android operating system, and as we all know the operating system is more commonly used in smartphones and tablet devices.

Previously we also heard a news about an Android camera created by Polaroid, and it seems the move will also be followed by other manufacturers and one of them is Nikon, which released the first Android camera and known as the COOLPIX S800C.

The Nikon COOLPIX S800C run on Android Gingerbread operating system, comes with a 25mm wide lens featured 10x NIKKOR optical zoom, which means the ability of the lens equivalent to 25-250mm lens on a 35mm camera (full frame).In the lens, there are BSI-CMOS sensor 16 megapixel reliable in low light conditions complete with a touch screen measuring 3.5-inch OLED.

On the back of this camera there are a 3.5 inch WVGA OLED touchscreen, whereas to support its performance, this camera uses Nikon's EXPEED C2 processor that offers the performance of continuous capture at speed of 8 frames per second and the ability to record video in Full HD 1080p resolution.

The Nikon COOLPIX S800C also offers several other features such as Wi-Fi, Geotagging, GPS, including  new filters like Toy Camera effect, Pop and Super Vivid  color, Cross  Process and Peripheral Darkening. 
As an Android camera the COOLPIX S800c also has a variety of applications  owned by Google, such as Gmail, Google Maps, YouTube, etc. In addition, this camera also has access to the Android Market application store that has provided more than 500 thousand applications, so users besides using it  to take pictures or videos, also can enjoy multimedia features. 
The Nikon Coolpix S800C is available in two colors black and white and will go on sale in September 2012 for U.S. $349.95.
