Mitsubishi Launches MiEV Power Box-Changing the Electric Car Become Power Generator

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation to design a portable charging device called the MiEV power Box and will be used for the Mitsubishi i-MiEV electric car. This device will be useful when the driver of the car was running out of energy resources, and is located in areas far from the power source.
Other sources have also said the device also serves as a power for household electronic devices during a power outage, and also will be useful when a natural disaster that shut down the entire power grid. Or maybe the point is a technology that can help consumers in changing their electric cars become a power generator.

The MiEV power Box can accommodate 100V AC energy, and in full condition the i-MiEV 16kWh battery can provide power of 1,500W for six hours, and its the amount of power consumed by the average household in Japan in a day.

The MiEV power Box has dimension of 395mm x 334mm x 194mm and weigh of about 11.5kg and also has a cable length 1.7M, and probably will be one of the competitors of the Leaf-to-Home system developed by Nissan some time ago, and will be launched at a price of USD1.800. 
As additional information, the i-MiEV is an electric car from Mitsubishi that could run with the distance of 160 kilometers(km), and is also capable of driving up to a top speed of 80 miles per hour or about 150 miles per hour. And this car is also reportedly managed to get the award for environmentally friendly cars and fuel efficiency by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Engery (DOE).
