Pioneer Launches Car Navigation with Hand Gesture Technology (Raku Navi)

Pioneer has announced a new device for car navigation with highly sophisticated technology, known as the Raku Navi family and can be operated only by hand gestures in front of the screen, without having to touch the screen at all.

This device comes with a technology called the Air Gesture, so without having to touch the screen and just by moving the hands able to do some things that we often use in car navigation. For example, we just move the hands to create a map that leads right to the house when it was on the way home.

This car navigation device is also designed to facilitate users while driving, so it becomes more focused on the road, which allow it to be able to reduce the risk of accidents. Moreover it also integrates with the car audio system that allows the driver to change the song they want, just by waving to the right or to the left.

Based on several sources, Pioneer will soon launch six models equipped with the Air Gesture in mid October 2012, and each model are the AVIC-MRZ009 and AVIC-MRZ007 as embedded types, and the other four are AVIC-MRP009, AVIC-MRP008, AVIC-MRP007" and AVIC-MRP006 as portable types.
So far there is no information about the price of these devices, and several sources also said, Japan is the first market for it. But unfortunately for information regarding the launch of the global market while its still unknown.
